HCC HEALTH DIVISION RECEIVES TWO NEW AMBULANCES

THE Honiara City Council (HCC) Health Division received two (2) Ambulances donated from Jiangmen City, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) over the weekend on the 28th of October 2023 in Honiara.

Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, the acting Mayor of Honiara City Council, Councilor Robert Oge thanked Jiangmen City and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for the timely gift given the fact that Honiara City is expecting to accommodate athletes from around the Pacific during the Pacific Games 2023 in the coming weeks.

He uttered that the relationship Honiara City had made with Jiangmen City is a fruitful partnership and it is growing from strength to strength as we go forward.

“Thank you so much Jiangmen City and the people of China for the continuous support that Honiara City receives which believed it strengthen the needed areas of supply services to the residents of Honiara City,” he explained.

He also thanked the local Chinese men and women for availing themselves to come and witness the handing over ceremony which is worthed.

“Given the fluctuation of challenges Honiara City is facing is really hard for Honiara City to handle but the partnership had with Jiangmen City is truly a blessing,” the acting Mayor expressed.

Meanwhile, the Chairman, of the Jiangmen Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Mr. Zhang Yuan Xing highlighted that in the handover ceremony, the two Jiangmen made ambulances and four dental medical equipment from Jiangmen City to Honiara City with the hope of delivering real love and warmth to Honiara citizens.

He said it would provide help to the smooth holding of the Pacific Games and the protection of the Honiara residents’ health.

“Jiangmen City will continue to expand all-around cooperation with Honiara City in stimulate local people-to-people exchange and will continue to enhance friendly exchanges between the two cities and promote beneficially and win–win cooperation that better share the development results of the Belt and Road Initiative,” Chairman Zhang Yuan Xing explained.

Mr. Xing said the Solomon Islands were known as the Islands of Happiness, and with that, we hope the marriage between Jiangmen City and Honiara City will promote the development of both sides to a new level.

“Let us enable the flower of our friendship to achieve more win–win results and wish the friendship between the two cities to last forever thus the people are happy and healthy,” Chairman Xing expressed.

Honiara City Council Health Director Doctor Lawrence Diau also thanked Jiangmen City and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for their timely support.

He explained such services of the ambulance in the city are truly missing a gap for quite a long time, and thanked Jiangmen City for the timely support which Honiara City Council Health Division will now smoothly run its health services efficiently and effectively to its residents and the visiting public.
