HCC & CHC SUBMIT A PROPOSED MULTIPURPOSE HALL DOCUMENT TO THE JAPANESE EMBASSY

THE Honiara City Council (HCC), and Central Honiara Constituency (CHC) have successfully handed over a proposed multipurpose hall documentation of Mbokonavera School to the Japanese Embassy on Thursday 27th of July 2023, at Mbokonavera School in Central Honiara.

Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Ambassador of Japan to the Solomon Islands, His Excellency (HE) Miwa Yoshiaki highlights working together is a vibrant thing ever to make such dreams come to its fruition.

His Excellency Yoshiaki explained working hand in hand to develop schools will eventually boost the learning capability of all the students.

“I was totally astonished by the way the school welcome me, and I am truly honored to witness the handover of the proposed document of a multipurpose hall to be built here at Mbokonavera School,” HE Yoshiaki expressed.

On the other hand, Member of Parliament (MP) for Central Honiara Constituency (CHC) Honorable Alfred Efona, shared the same sentiment, highlighting that working together for the betterment of the lives of everyone is the paramount culture expected from leading stakeholders.

Hon. Efona then thanked HE Yoshiaki for availing himself despite his very busy schedule.

“We look forward to a positive outcome from the Japanese government and its people in making sure the proposal is fulfilled,” Hon. Efona uttered.

The Councilor for Mataniko Ward and as well the Chairman for Honiara City Council Education Division CR. Clement Terewauri also thanked all the stakeholders for such a brilliant and energetic move to actually bring forth such proposal.

Cr. Terewauri said on behalf of the City Mayors, councilors, City Clerks, and staff of Honiara City Council, would like to render thanks and gratitude to the Japanese Embassy for responding positively to the proposed plan.

“I look forward to seeing a multipurpose hall at Mbokonavera School in the near future,” Cr. Clement expressed this during his keynote address at the handover ceremony.

Moreover, Mbokonavera School Principal Mrs. Agnes Te’e said it is a privilege for the school to bring forth such a proposed plan.

She explained that once this proposal is accomplished, it will probably benefit the school in terms of avoiding hiring a hall for school graduations, and as well other school programs such as indoor games, etc.

“The school will definitely have space for social interactions amongst the students,” Mbokonavera School Principal explained.

She said the school is now looking forward to a positive outcome.

Meanwhile, Central Honiara Constituency Development Officer, (CDO) Mr. Keyond Ronia rendered his sincere gratitude to City Mayor Eddie Kasute’e Siapu for his approval in making the proposed document complete, and it is now handed over to the Japanese Government.

“I do belief this proposed multipurpose hall will soon be built, and Mbokonavera School will surely be blessed with such infrastructure development,” CDO Ronia said.

He expressed CHC will always work alongside Honiara City Council and other stakeholders to make sure the development aspirations within the city be substantialized.
