HONIARA CITY COUNCIL (HCC) Planning Division, in collaboration with CCP Property and Development Services, recently conducted a valuation of HCC assets and properties. The valuation concluded that the current market value of all the properties is Two Hundred Ninety-Four Million, And Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($ 294,400,000.00).

This first-ever valuation after a long period of time signifies another huge accomplishment for Honiara City Council says the Councilor for Naha Ward, and the Chairman of HCC Planning and Land Division Cr. Charles Auwosuga during the second quarter full council meeting recently held at the Honiara City Chamber.

“The valuation helps to ascertain the actual worth of wealth Honiara City Council possessed from its properties and assets,” Chairman Planning explained.

He uttered that the recent valuation roll covers over 65 properties, including residential, clinics, schools, and recreations.

The valuation roll also helps the City Council with its decision in improving its properties as well as in the renewal process of lease terms as most of these properties will undergo a land renewal process which requires a valuation report for City Council reference purposes says Chairman Planning Cr. Auwosuga.

He said the Inspections and Assessment Team comprises officers from CCP and HCC Lands officers deployed for inspection from the 24th of April till the first week of May, 2023.
