THE Honiara City Council (HCC) had appealed to people who built illegal market stalls along the streets and roads within the city to remove their market stalls immediately voluntarily; if they fail the National Police and HCC Law Enforcement will remove illegal stalls.

Honiara City Council as an institution that has been mandated to look after the city will not be tolerated anyone, and will not be hesitated to remove illegal market stalls along the streets and roads in the city, says the Councillor for Naha Ward 10, and as well the Chairman of the Honiara City Council Physical Planning Division Cr. Charles Aiwosuga.

It’s good for those of you who have these illegal market stalls along the streets and the roads in the city to comply with Honiara City Council ordinances, said the Chairman for Physical Planning Cr. Aiwosuga.

“Communities and people living within Honiara City Council jurisdictions must always abide by the laws of Honiara City Council, whether you like it or not!” said Cr. Aiwosuga.

He appealed to the people who had built illegal market stalls within Honiara city boundary to listen to the authority immediately and to voluntarily remove their illegal market stalls immediately otherwise they will regret it.

“Verbal warnings have been illustrated to those who have market stalls at certain places in the city, but it seems these fellow men and women are not listening to the authority,” he uttered.

Councillor Aiwosuga said working together to make Honiara a clean and safe place to live is what truly matters.

“Make Honiara city a safe and beautiful for the games and beyond, because we are the host city, we must work together to make Honiara great again,” Cr. Aiwosuga expressed.
