STUDENTS RECEIVE CERTIFICATES OF WASTE MANAGEMENT TRAINING FACILITATED BY THE HCC WASTE MANAGEMENT DIVISION

The Honiara City Council through its Waste Management Division has been facilitating waste management training to students representing secondary schools in Honiara from 23rd February to 13th March 2024.

This waste management training is purposely to equip students representing schools in Honiara as the focal point and champions to showcase how to manage waste in their respective schools and communities.

Speaking during the presentation of certificates today at the Multipurpose Hall, City Clerk Justus Denni highlighted the importance of being a waste management champion to schools and surrounding communities in Honiara.

He said he believed that the waste management training for all student leaders from the respective schools have undergone from the Honiara City Council Waste Management team has equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to go back to their respective schools to educate their fellow students and even their respective communities.

The City Clerk explained to the students that they are the focal point for the Honiara City Council Waste Management team in their respective schools, which means, at any time, they can be contacted for any future waste management training.

The student leaders are equipped with knowledge and skills in waste management thus expected to share and disseminate information in their respective schools, communities, and families.
