The Honiara City Council (HCC) direct employees have received a five percent (5%) cost of living adjustment (COLA) in their salary effective from 1st January 2024.
The 5% COLA was passed by the city council late last year in December 2023.
In a statement, the Lord Mayor Councilor (Cr) Eddie Kasuteé Siapu highlights that Honiara City Council as a legitimate institution will continue to showcase its commitment to serve the interests of the employees and the city residents.
“With the five percent (5%) COLA increase in employees’ salaries, I hope all my employees will be satisfied and serve the city council diligently,” Lord Mayor explained.
He thanked all the hardworking councilors, city clerks, management, and staff for their brilliant efforts in ensuring the idea of increasing the employee’s salaries must be implemented.
The Honiara City Council employees are now receiving and enjoying their five percent (5%) COLA this year 2024, says the Lord Mayor.
