The Pacific Technical Advisory Team from New Zealand facilitated a two-day workshop for Honiara City Councilor (HCC) Councilors and Heads of Divisions (HODs) on August 12 and 13, 2024.
The event at the King Solomon Hotel conference room brings together key leaders and decision-makers from the HCC to enhance their skills and knowledge in governance and administration.
The workshop focused on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Council’s operations. The sessions covered various topics, including the key priority areas in HCC’s strategic planning, financial management, and community engagement for the next three years, providing participants with valuable insights and practical tools to better serve the people of Honiara.
Deputy Lord Mayor Clement Terewauri expressed gratitude and appreciation for the workshop, noting that the knowledge gained would significantly impact their work in local governance.
He also thanked the Pacific Technical Advisory Team for their hard work and dedication to come over to facilitate the workshop.
The event marks another step in the ongoing collaboration between New Zealand and the Solomon Islands to strengthen governance and public service delivery in the region, said Deputy Mayor Terewauri in his closing remark at the King Solomon Hotel.
