The first major Clean, Safe, and Green 2024 and Beyond Campaign for a Livable Honiara City was indeed a successful cleaning-up campaign for the Honiara City Council, that involved every Council employee.
This major cleanup campaign commences on Friday 23rd of February 2024, in which the clean-up campaign starts from SMI Town Ground to the Honiara City Council compound.
The Honiara City Council Executive approved the Clean, Safe, and Green 2024 and Beyond Campaign early this month.
In a brief statement before kicking off the clean-up campaign at SMI, City Clerk Justus Denni highlights the importance of why Honiara City Council needs to be proactive to maintain the cleanliness and green beauty of Honiara city.
“This is just the start of the clean-up campaign which means Honiara City Council employees must continue to advocate for a safe, clean, green Honiara city 2024 and beyond,” City Clerk Justus Denni highlighted this very important message to HCC employees at SMI last Friday.
City Clerk Denni urges Honiara residents and the visiting public to continue to make Honiara city safe, clean, green, and beyond which is the divine plan of the city council as it will be a role model to other parts of the country.
Residents in the 12 wards are encouraged to come out and support the clean, safe, and green 2024 and Beyond campaign since your Ward Councilors are getting funds from the Council to support the work in their respective Wards.
The City Council is also reaching out to the national government, state-owned enterprises, private sector companies, churches, schools, and other stakeholders to come out and support this fortnightly clean-up campaign. This will continue and sustain the momentum gained during our preparations for the Pacific Games 2023.
Honiara City was clean, safe, and green during Pacific Games 2023 so let us continue to rally together, work together, and sustain the campaign from 2024 and beyond.
