Honiara City has 8 General Health Clinics.
The health facilities are evenly distributed in Honiara City. There are three area health centres and five rural health clinics. The three area health centres are; Kukum AHC, Mataniko AHC and Rove AHC.
People can access free health services in these clinics during the week, however only two area health centres namely Kukum and Rove is opening during weekends and public holidays.
Services of General Clinics
- General outpatient service – Diagnosing, treatment, dressing, Injection, patient consultation and counselling.
- Child welfare services– Immunisation and monitoring of child development and nutritional advice to mothers.
- Pregnancy Service –Registration of first visit mothers, pregnancy check-up and free blood tests.
- Family Planning & Postnatal services – Parental counselling, issuing of contraceptive Family Planning methods, Breastfeeding check and weight monitoring for baby.
