The Honiara City Council maintains and manages the Honiara Cemetery. It is forbidden to bury any human remains in Honiara without written permission of the City Clerk.

The current procedure at the moment is that when someone passed away and need to be buried at the Kola Ridge Cemetery, the following steps need to be noted:

1. Firstly, families responsible have to go to the City Council Cashier and pay an amount of $323.00 for Adults.
2. Children aged 13 and below down to 1 year are to pay half of the amount, and infants under 12 months are free of charge.
3. Following payment, the arrangement and receipt is forwarded to the City Council’s Cemetery Supervisor and the arrangement will be made at the cemetery for the digging of a grave.
