The Honiara City Council Education Division of the Honiara Education Authority is responsible for managing and running of Education and schools within the Honiara City Council.

Primarily this is supporting the Honiara City Council’s early childhood education centres, primary schools, secondary schools and Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET).

The Division is headed by a Chief Education Officer (CEO). The Division accountant manages the finances for the Division and the schools under HCC Education Authority.

Working in parallel with the HCC Education Administration are two School Inspectors who are seconded to the HCC Education Division by the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development (MEHRD). They are the Principal Education Officer (PEO) Inspector (Secondary Schools) and Senior Education Officer (SEO) Inspector (Primary Schools).
