MHA & HCC CONDUCTS FIRST-EVER INDUCTION SESSION

The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Honiara City Council (HCC) conducted a first-ever inaugural induction session on Friday 31st May 2024, at the HCC’s Chamber.

The session aimed to familiarize new council members with their roles, responsibilities, and the operational procedures of HCC. Key topics included the importance of effective municipal management, adherence to protocol, and strategies for enhanced public services. It emphasized the need for transparent and accountable governance to serve the residents of Honiara better.

This landmark event marks a significant step towards improved governance and collaboration between government entities.

Gracing the inaugural induction session, the Minister of Home Affairs Honorable Isikeli Vave express gratitude to Honiara City Council for their welcoming reception.

The Minister of Home Affairs thanked the Honiara City Council for hosting the inaugural induction event, highlighting its significance, and expressing gratitude for their efforts in organizing such a milestone occasion. This event is pivotal in fostering collaboration and progress between government agencies.

He said he is looking forward to seeing such programs continuously in the near future.
In a statement from the Honiara City Council (HCC), Lord Mayor Eddie Kasuteé Siapu expressed gratitude to the Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs and his team for gracing and facilitating the inaugural induction session.

He also thanked his fellow Council members and staff for being part of the program.

Mayor Siapu Noted, “This is just the first phase which will be continued later this month depending on the availability of the responsible officials.”
