The Honiara City Council Netball team have won the inter city netball tournament against the visiting Port Villa Municipal Authority side. This is part of the sister City relationship between Port Villa and Honiara through sports.
The match was played in a three series game. The first match was won by HCC in a well contested game, but Port Villa came back determined with their young players and won the second match. The final match and the decider was full of action as both sides put on an impressive performance, however HCC came out the winner at the final whistle.
It was more than a game where friendships were established, as the real purpose of the city relationship.
HCC won the trophy but Port Villa vowed to win it back when they meet again next year. A consolation prize for the outstanding player was awarded to Lehina of Port Villa.
