NEW COMPACTOR FOR WORKS DIVISION

The Works Division of the Council has taken delivery of a new compactor, and addition to their fleet.

The Mayor Andrew Mua said on behalf of his executive he is grateful in the delivery of the new compactor, to boost the services provided by the Council in terms of waste collection.

He said the Council is trying it’s best to deliver services within it’s capacity and with the new compactor, it will help out with waste collection in a consistent manner.

Director of works Eddie Gaza thanked the Mayor and his Executive for the initiative in procuring the new compactor and said this will really help his staffs with their daily tasks.

Gaza said three of the compactors are operational but two have recently experienced mechanical problem and are currently under repair and should be back on the road when all parts are fitted.

With the new addition in the fleet, the Works Director said this will help improve their rounds within the 6 zones in the City.

He said with the high demand and with the current fleet, they will procure another one soon with the approval from the Mayor, his executive and the management.
